I have failed miserably at posting anything lately...well, since I started the other blog...but nonetheless, I am posting Link's birthday pics finally. He is the big 1-years-old! He actually got 2 birthdays because while grandma Bailey was visiting she gave him his presents early from grandma and papa Bailey. So that is why he is in two different outfits. Not to mention, blogger screwed up the order, so the pics are all backwards. O'well! Here's Link's birthday!

The books were from Manda, Lori and Sam and he LOVES them! :) They are especially helpful during church because our kid has TONS of energy and sitting for an hour he feels is torture.

I am so grateful for my little man, and all the fun times we have together during the day. He is so sweet and bubbly and always makes friends with people in the grocery store because he is always smiling at them. He is a super goober and I love it. I love you Linkers (even when you are teething and have strep all at the same time and miserable and letting me know it). You are the best kid ever...Also, I might love that he is a mama's boy through-and-through :)

Halloween 2010

Alright for anyone who knows my family you know that Halloween is a big deal to us, which is why even though Link is only 11 months, he went trick-or-treating all ready. Costumes are my favorite part about Halloween and I thought up these costumes last year! Only finished them this morning, but they were thought up last year :)

Linkers was Batman, and a cute little studly one at that :)

This was actually a 4-year-old costume, but I couldn't find any cute Dark Knight batman costumes so I bought this one and then just cut and sewed the pieces to fit.

This is us trunk-or-treating! We got lots of candy for "Link".... or maybe us :)

It seems my kid has a desire already to get into everything, as so I am a little nervous what to expect when he reaches his "terrible twos". I have to say, though, that I kept my cool surprisingly and followed good advice from a friend who said "take pictures first, and then get mad". The only problem is I can't get mad at the kid who doesn't know any better, but instead have to reprimand myself for not closing the door tightly when there was open paint inside that room. And secondly, for not thinking "Link must be into something because he is awful quiet". O'well! You live you learn...and it makes for some stinkin cute pics.

Creative Station

I found these great shelves at Goodwill for $.99 and so I brought them home and made colorful canisters (a.k.a. painted old formula cans) to hold all my jewelry supplies in, to sit on the shelves :) It is now very orderly and that makes me happy because this station was a mess before!

One Little Belt

While in Utah my cousin gave me one of the belts that she makes that she sells on Etsy. Her shop is One Little Belt and she has a website as well called Onelittlebelt.com!

I LOVE this belt and Link wears it nearly every day because it is so cute on him and because it just seems to add that little touch to every outfit. If any of you are interested or think that these belts are cute I HIGHLY suggest getting one! She makes them for girls and boys and in all different sizes. It was really nice to have one now that Link is thinning out after he started crawling because his pants were not fitting him well anymore and I couldn't find any small belts, but she makes them as small as infant. They come in all different colors and designs. And they are VERY affordable :)

Trip to Utah 2010

We had tons of fun in Utah and these are the pics from Island Park. This was a horseshoe that Matt threw and he took a picture of it because he was so excited about it. lol.
Link and I were hanging out watchin the boys play horseshoes. Mike and Matt got into a competition (hard to believe if you know Matt at all....hmmm) and so played many games of horseshoes trying to beat each other.
Link hanging with his cousin Josh :) Josh was so sweet while we were camping and kept bringing toys to Link and playing with him.
Grandma Findley had a great idea to set up their swimming pool up at Island Park for the kids. They loved it and Link loved it since he LOVES water!
Eating the fish I caught in the Buffalo. I had to take pictures of each step because I was so excited to eat fresh fish for the first time :)

Showing off my fish :) I caught the biggest one that day, and I couldn't help but be excited about this since it was only my second time fishing.
Yellowstone! We had fun, but man was it HOT! Of course, not as hot as it is now that we are back in Oklahoma (sheesh 106 degrees).

While we were at Matt's parents we got to hang out with Rick, and Link was having such a good time with his Godfather :) Kaiser was there too, on the other couch. It was good to hang with the boys while we were there.
While at my parents we must have partied too hard because Link fell asleep in Marrie's arms and he has NEVER just fallen asleep somewhere. It was sooo cute :)
While the Keslers were visiting we got to go to Herriman beach. Matt was having a good time soaking up the sun....obviously he needed it! hahahaha

The water was really cold so we just sat there for a while and let the cold water run over our legs until he got used to it and jumped in to play.

Needless to say, we had a great time in Utah! These were only pictures of a couple of the things we were able to do and the people we were able to visit. We had so much fun seeing out families and it was so nice to be able to spend time with them. Living far away sure does make you appreciate family more. I had a great time getting to spend time with Manda and her family and got to go to an antique store with Manda and Sam (her sister) and we found some awesome treasures :D We got to play in Lori's pool (manda's mom) and Link played in there for HOURS. I have never seen him have so much fun in the water, but it was warm and he just loved it!

Thanks to our families and friends for spending time with us and taking care of us while we were there! Love you guys!

Long Overdue!

We had SOOO much fun when Gina and the kids came to visit this summer! We did LOTS of fun things from Playing at the water park, going to the zoo, going to Celebration Station, and just hanging out together. I love the picture of Bryan and Kyla talking to Link because I think the majority of the time they spent just trying to get him to smile and laugh :) He was so confused after they left and mom and dad weren't giving him that much attention.

Probably my favorite was playing at the water park :) It was so HOT while they were here that all we could think about was playing in the water. Link got to hang out with Gina while Matt and I went down the water slides with the kids. Matt had a lot of fun at the arcade and we got pretty good at one of the games. Not good enough to buy the bear in the picture, but the girl behind the counter could tell I wanted it so she gave it to us anyway :) Link licked it though, so I think that means it is his.

We loved having them here with us, and can't wait to skype it up Gina :) Love you guys!! Thanks for making the long journey all the way out here to see us, we had a blast!

Sushi, Dresses, and Chairs

I have lots to blog about since I haven't done so in a while, so here I go!...

Ok, so in my plot to find a way to store our shoes neatly, I went to Habitat for Humanity. I did not find anything for shoes (we eventually went for hanging shoe storage), BUT I did find this FABULOUS chair :) I am super excited about it! Only 5 dollars to top it all off :)

So, with the help of my dear friend Shawna, I have completed my very first dress! Or, at least one that is wearable :)

So Shawna (pictured above) not only helped me make a dress, but also introduced Matt and me to her FABULOUS sushi! Because it was SOOO good (that we couldn't even get it off our minds!) she offered to show me how to make it :) It was super fun, and very tasty!

So, maybe this isn't exciting to anyone but me, but I am ECSTATIC!!! Someone in our ward was getting rid of a bunch of fabric, so I asked if I could have it (thinking one garbage bag full, maybe) and I get there and she had 6-7 garbage bags FULL of fabric!! All the wonderful things I can do with all this fabric :) Now I just need my friend Shawna to teach me how to read/use a pattern and I can just go CRAZY!!

The only question now is where to put it all?! I guess that is why I have a craft room :) To load with craft supplies, and free ones at that!

I think I will have to think up some fabric crafts for my YW to do because we could have a really good time with this fabric gold! (wow, seriously excited, can you tell?)

Link's First Time Swimming

Link loves his baths so we thought it only natural that he would love to go to the pool. Only, the water there isn't as warm as a bath so he wasn't too thrilled at first :) We kept him in the water until he got used to it, and he started to have so much fun not long after!

The Outside Of The House

So we got our very own lawn mower! First one we have ever needed. It's green so of course I love it :) And even though it is used, it works GREAT! So I have decided to show the yard now that it is cut and doesn't look so WT! I also planted my first flower garden EVER, so that is fun too. And my little pink flowers started with only one bloom and now there are five. How exciting :)

The stone path I found while gardening. It was covered by grass and weed so I have started uncovering it. It is quite a project so that is why I only have half of it done.

And when you look at the backyard pics you can see that Walmart is literally our backyard. This is a good and bad thing for us. We can walk through a gap in the fence so we go a lot more than we prob would, but it is a nice stroll when I need to get something, but don't want to load Link up in the car. Even though it is our background, we don't hear the noise from it so that is nice.

The New House!!

Well we have gone from a studio apartment, to a one bedroom (not any bigger than the studio), to a two bedroom, and finally...a house! Funny how much you accumulate with a kid, and we only have one. This will be the last place we have to move while Matt is still in school. That is very comforting since I HATE moving. Of course it doesn't help that Matt and I have moved 4 times in our 3 years of marriage.

It is a 3 bedroom so now we have room for guests!...hint hint *:) We are really happy with it, and we will have more pics as I continue to decorate. As of right now I just have the living room finished so that's why there are so many pics of that :) As I decorate I will add more. Or you could just come see it for yourself....(another hint*)

Redhawks Gamee

We went to a redhawks game with some friends for family home evening and it was a lot of fun. The game was really short, though, so we had time to visit the OKC bombing memorial. (I don’t think that’s the official name...). The back wall of the memorial is the actual foundation of the federal building which I thought was really neat and really added to the memorial. The saddest part for me, though, were the cement chairs that were lit with peoples names on them. There was a chair for everyone that died in the bombing (168 people) and then there were smaller chairs for the little kids that died L I just don’t understand how people can do that.

All in all we had a really good night with friends, and had yummy nachos (a ball game must J)

Norman Tornado

So for those who don’t know already, we had a tornado in Norman. It dropped only 3 miles from our apartment, but luckily none of us were home. We are all okay, and we didn’t have any damage done, but there were a lot who did, and so we helped out Saturday. These are just some pictures from the houses we helped, and their yards we helped clear. The tornado was an F4, which is why some of these houses are beyond repair.

New Calling!

I just got a new calling and I am super excited about it! I am now the Young Women's President, which is awesome because I love these YW so much! I'll be honest, I was REALLY overwhelmed when I was first called, and honestly if I hadn't taken this crazy road to get there I probably wouldn't have felt like I could do it. The Lord works in mysterious ways and this was no exception. I feel like all the things that happened to get me to this position helped me to know that if I just love the girls then everything else will fall into place, and that will be easy for me because I already love these girls so much. They have taken up one third of my brain already (Matt and Link have the other two thirdsJ) and I am always thinking about them and what I can do to help them know that their Heavenly Father loves them.

To go from 1^st counselor to President in just over two months, it is just a really good thing that I had great YW presidents before me to be my examples. Thank you ladies for helping me know just what a YW president should be and how to love these girls.

This is an overwhelming calling, but I couldn't be more excited to work with the YW!!

Matt kept talking about how OLD he was and he was only going to be turning 27 so I felt like he needed an "over-the-hill" type party! Hence my funeral dress (and funeral veil that you can't see very well). We had a bunch of our friends come to dinner with us, and it was supposed to be a surprise for Matt, but I was too excited and so we ended up getting there before everyone else :) Matt was surprised, but I was the only one who got to see it!

The old man picture is part of the poster I made him. There were pictures starting with him as a baby and moving up in age. This old man is Matt's picture at 27, since he is so old :)

I had fun planning it and Matt humored me by going along with it :)

Academy Awards Girl's Night!

I threw a girl’s night party for the Oscars and it was so much fun! Thank you to all the cute girls who came all dressed up and everything! We were dressed for “The Red Carpet”, and I even had a “red carpet” leading up to the door. I’m sure my neighbors were a little confused why there was nappy red, uneven, fabric leading up to my door! Ha. And I don't know if you can tell, but I put little glass beads in the stems of the glasses to make them different colors :)

Oh the Joys of Motherhood!

My sweet little pumpkin has been super fussy this week and I felt so bad because there was nothing I could do to make it better except stand and hold him, and my back can only take so much! I took him to the doctors but they just told me it was a cold and there was nothing wrong. The problem with this is that I knew there was something wrong. This is when I decided to call me sweet friend Kami, who I would like to call my lifesaver. I called my Lifesaver and she gave me all sorts of tips to find out if he is teething, and ways to help him feel better. Result…a happy baby!!! Hooray! Now my heart can stop breaking because he isn’t sobbing terrible tears trying to tell me that he is hurting. My poor little man. Moral of the story, Moms are a WAY better resource than doctors, at least so far that has been true.

Necklaces!

Please tell me what you think of the necklaces from what you can tell. I know the quality of the pictures is terrible, but hopefully you can see enough of the necklace to be able to tell me if you think I would have success selling them on etsy. Tell me your favorites and what you would pay for them. I will be asking a friend to take pictures of them with their really nice camera to sell them on etsy, but since there is an ice storm outside, I had to use my terrible camera for now :)

Pictures in order: Taking pictures for grandma's that miss him! The second is a picture of the hickie he gave himself because he was SOO hungry (yeah, I know, surprising). The third picture still makes me giggle because I was trying to take a picture with him and Matt, but instead he kept looking at the camera and posing. Seriously, cheesiest grin ever. We have a little show-off on our hands. In the fourth, that was after his warm relaxing bath after his shots :) I think he kind of looks like a boxer in this picture, ha.

I haven't written for a while, and I have promised to put up pictures because I have been slacking so here is an update on our sweet little man :) Well, actually a BIG little man because he is in the 75th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. The only thing that isn't big is his head and that is in the 25th percentile, so he is just a little disproportionate :)

As for us, Matt is leaving for a conference today and won't be back until Sunday. We are going to miss him, and especially knowing that a HUGE ice storm is coming our way and then a snow storm after that :) Needless to say, after I drop him off at the airport I will be going to the store to stock up on the essentials. A week of the temperature not going below 50 degrees, I guess we were due for a terrible week after. We can't get too spoiled here!

Christmas Vacation

Well, as we are driving home from Utah I can't help but think that I am going to have to be a Mommy all on my own now :) No sisters to hold him while I relax, and no mom to take him in the morning when Link wakes up super early. Now I get to find out what it's like to REALLY be a mom, ha!

Our Holidays were great, and we were super excited to be able to go home for the holidays. It

was great to be surrounded by family for almost a month, and be able to just relax before we go back to the real world.

I think my favorite thing about the break, besides family, was that I learned how to make awesome necklaces which I am going to try and sell at the farmer's market in Norman. I am also thinking of etsy, but I want to find out more about what people think of it. They are super fun for me to make, though, and it is always good for me to have a creative outlet because it keeps be busy doing something that I absolutely LOVE. Plus, if I were able to get paid to do it then all the better :) I'll post pictures of some of the finished products after we get home and settled.

Link is growing so big, and he now is WAY too big for his newborn clothes :( I asked him nicely to stop growing so much, but it doesn't seem that he is listening to me! Oh well, I guess I better get used to that :) We are having so much fun being parents, and Link has started smiling a lot which has been SOO much fun, and I am pretty sure we spend more time talking in high pitched tones than anything else hoping that we will get him to smile again because it is so precious. I just love my little man.

I had grandma look for little sweaters for Link at this cute little thrift store since he will need them in the freezing Utah weather when we go there for Christmas and she found this cute little OU jacket :) Matt was super excited to put it on him so right after we washed it Matt put it on him and made him pose with this OU football ornament. Poor kid :) But he did look super cute!

Santa's Lap

Our ward had a Christmas Breakfast party and they were doing pictures with Santa. Even though Link is still really little I couldn't resist bringing him to take his picture with Santa for the first time :) I don't know if you can see his little fohawk, but Matt loves it when I do his hair that way so he had it done for his picture with Santa. I think he looks super cute with his hair like that, but it makes him look like a little boy, not my little baby, and he is already growing up so fast on his own so I don't like to help him look older. I just want to enjoy my tiny baby boy while I can :)

Our New Addition

Well, I finally found some time to write about our sweet little man. Crazy how much times flies by now trying to figure out the whole parent thing :)
Link was born Nov. 21, 2009 at 1:19 a.m. after over 12 hours of labor and he was 8 lbs 7 oz. It was a tough trip for him so he had a SUPER conehead at first and his cheeks were really swollen, but he has evened out now and is the most beautiful baby in the whole world. Matt is so happy to be a Dad and he is so cute with Link. When he went to school for just a couple hours he came home and immediately grabbed Link and said that he missed his little boy :) He has probably been kissed about 10,000 times already between Grandma Bailey, Mom and Dad because he is just so precious.
We are having a great time being new parents and have greatly appreciated my mom being here to help us out. Being a mom is the best, and I didn't know that I could love this little guy so much. It is hard to put him down in his crib because I would rather just cuddle him all day long, but work still has to be done :)

Matt was really embarrassed to wear his costume around because his shorts were "too short" and he felt retarded with his hair parted to the side :) I thought it was great and I am glad I have a husband who puts up with me during Halloween because it is my favorite holiday!

Ode to Snowboarding

I talked to my mom yesterday and found out that it snowed in Utah, and that they got 4 ft in the mountains. Man I miss snowboarding when I hear things like that. Some of my favorite times in college were ditching class to go hike up Tony Grove near Logan. It would take us almost 3 or 4 hours just to get to the top, and then all of 15 to snowboard down. The powder was so fresh that it made it all worth it. We just couldn't wait for the mountain to open up, so we would hike until it did open up. So many times our cars would get stuck just trying to get to ole Tony Grove, but once again, totally worth it.
It also makes me miss Beaver Mountain. I scheduled my classes strategically so that I would have Tuesdays and Thursdays free to snowboard, and since it was during the week I never had to wait in lines and I knew the park backwards and forwards. I need to take Matt there sometime because he has only been once and we were taking my cousin to Snowbird. It was so crowded! I hated it, and Matt was getting run over by 5 year olds that were born on skiis. It didn't help things since he already felt silly that his wife was the one teaching him :)
I guess I just had to write and say how much I miss snowboarding. This feeling always comes around this time of year, but once again, all I have is flat earth around me. Oh, snowboarding, we will meet again one day, and when we do the heaven's will sing at our long awaited, and fateful reunion.

The U2 Concert!

Matt desperately wanted them to play Where the Streets Have No Name, so when they played it I had to take a picture of Matt's happy face :)

This was my favorite part of the show, when the screen came down!

Well, the U2 Concert seemed so far away and now it's over :( But it was so much fun while we were there! Black Eyed Peas opened for them which was a little weird, but they did ok. Nothing as awesome as U2 though :) Matt and I seemed like the only people around us who actually knew their new stuff. Mostly everyone else was there to get wasted, but that's a college town right?
It was a little cold, but once we got up to jam with U2 it got better :) I'm surprised I lasted being 8 months pregnant, but the energy there was awesome and it was enough to sustain me for the majority of the concert.
I don't know what was more fun though, watching Bono get crazy, or Matt get crazy :) I usually don't get to see Matt super excited about something so it was a lot of fun to see him totally in the moment and loving every second of it. All-in-all it was a really good night, and we had a lot of fun. Maybe one time when I am not pregnant we can get up next to the stage. Oh, yeah, and when we are rich :)

Just the last couple weeks

The last couple of weeks I haven't really posted what I wanted to so now I am just making a large blog post that encompasses everything that we have been up to. First, I finally finished the backboard for our bed. I am very proud of myself because I made it and it only cost me 10 dollars for all the materials :)

Matt and I painted pumpkins this weekend, and I think this is the first time that I have ever not painted something Halloween on my pumpkin, but I wanted it to be able to stay out as a decoration for Thanksgiving too. Matt worked really hard on his pumpkin, and I am thankful that he participated because it wasn't his idea of a fun time, but he did it for me because I love everything that has to do with Halloween.

The U2 concert is almost here and they have been setting up the stage all week. Yes, all week! It is that huge. You can't really tell from this picture, but it is the best that we can do because you can't get that close to the football stadium (you can actually get arrested for video taping the football team practicing). Anyway, Matt is really excited to go and has been like a little 5-year-old at Christmas time every time we pass the stadium, not to mention he will only allow U2 cd's to be played in the car right now in preparation for the concert! ha

last, but not least, it was finally cold enough last weekend to have a fire. First we tried to find free wood by looking for crates behind businesses. Well, turns out crate wood is TERRIBLE to burn in a fireplace! So, after 2 and a half hours of trying to get it to burn we finally went to the store and found these amazing logs that you put a match to and they burn for 2 hours. Baby Link Outfit

Okay, I know that I have told Matt over and over again that we would never dress Link up in a "Link" costume, but this is so darn cute! Some lady made this for her friends baby and then wrapped it up in a treasure chest and gave it to them. So creative! Anyway, I found the pattern for it and I have to say that I think this just might be Link's first Halloween costume. That is, if I can learn how to make it by then. I figure that gives me a year, and I have Aunt Mel who knits so it just might be possible. Gosh it is just so cute I can hardly stand it, ha

Craft Party

This is the cute door prize I got because my name was picked out of the raffle. (Just ignore how ugly I look with my huge cold sore.) I'm also trying to show off my new CTR ring that I bought at the craft party.

Well I'm trying to branch out and meet more women in the ward so I went with some friends to a craft party, and apparently there are very crafty women in our ward because they had some way cute things. Basically the party was just women in the ward that make crafts brought them to one house and we were able to look and them and buy them if we wanted to. These ladies are incredible with some of the things they came up with. My favorite, though, were these cute CTR rings for really cheap and since I have been looking for one I was really excited that they were so cute, and very creative. The picture is kinda blurry, but you get the idea.
I have been inspired, and now if I only had money I could go craft crazy! Oh yeah, and I need those power tools I've been asking Matt for. For some reason being accident prone has lead him to believe that I should never have power tools. Don't get it.

Belly Update

I think I am so huge, and then I take a picture to put on blogspot and it really doesn't convey just how big I feel :)
This is me at 31 weeks and getting bigger every day. My insides are squished, and he kicks a lot, but I am still so happy to be pregnant. I read in one of my pregnancy books to not be worried if he doesn't move around as much because it is getting pretty crowded in my belly, but, you know, Link still moves around just as much, if not more, so we might just have a soccer player or a boxer on our hands because he is one tough cookie and those punches can be painful!
We love him and Matt just sits in Link's room sometimes cause he just wants to hold him. He's going to be such a cute dad.

New Calling

I have never said "no" to a calling, even when it seems like I shouldn't be there, and this one is no exception. I have been called to teach the Valiant girls ages 10, 11, 12. Shouldn't be so hard right? Wrong! There are 12-15 girls that show up every Sunday and they all love to talk talk talk. Today was no exception. So me and the other teacher decided that we should split up the class and teach them separately. Hopefully this helps out next Sunday to not be so hectic, and maybe will split up the chatters. I have volunteered to take the older girls because one of them is the noisiest of all, and spent all of class today showing off her singing skills by singing every song she knows that is being played on the radio, and the teacher I work with now almost started crying because it is too much. So, I thought this calling wasn't for me, but turns out now I know why I was called. It is because I demand respect, and a quiet classroom, and this poor girl doesn't know what is coming. I just hope that Heavenly Father can help me with patience so that I can lay the smackdown in a gentle and loving way :)

Our First OU football game!

This is the scene outside of the football stadium. People start setting up these tailgating tents days in advance and then they shut down the roads around the stadium on game day, it's a pretty crazy scene.

They had these little battery powered fans on every seat in the student section for us to keep. As the two blades rotated lights lit up on the blades that said OU spirit.

I finally found a cute bed set that we could afford, and I love it because it is brown and blue and perfect for little Link. This means that we now have everything set for the little man. Now if it could just be time for him to come already cause we are just really excited for there to actually be a little person in this crib. Even if he will cry and wake me up at night. That will be more torture for Matt than for me because he "loves" to deal with me when I haven't had enough sleep :) Oh well! Better get used to it I guess because from what I hear my sleeping days are O-V-E-R, over.

Health Insurance!!

So, for those who don't know, I have been without health insurance since May (thank you MDH) and I finally just got soonercare last night and we are so relieved!! I have my appointment scheduled with a midwife in OKC on Sept 17 and now I am just so excited for that date to make sure that everything is ok and that we are still on track for Nov. 27. Not to mention, I have so many questions that I cannot wait to ask her. I had them put me on the cancellation call list so say a little prayer that I am able to go in before the 17th because I really am just so ansy. Matt is able to relax a little more too because every time I have a Braxton Hicks contraction or a cramp he worries that I am going into labor, and that I don't have health insurance :) I'm just glad a married a guy who cares so much.
We are both getting really excited for Link to come and every time I walk past the empty crib I can't wait til there is a little body in there. (I know, I know, enjoy not having that responsibility yet). Just two and a half months about, and then our lives change forever (and I can finally sleep on my stomach again!).

Just a Little Freaked Out

Ok, so I'm just going to be completely honest with myself here and say that I am freaking out a little bit when it comes to thinking of the birthing process. I mean, seriously, a watermelon sized baby is supposed to come out of where?!? The pain, the ripping, the contractions, the pushing, the screaming. Tell me what am I supposed to look forward to here?
So ladies out there, that have gone through this, please help me out and tell me that it is worth it, because although I know there is no turning back now, at least I can have some peace of mind that everything will be okay and that I will recover from the terrifying and painful experience called LABOR! ....scared...so scared...

Finally moved in

It feels so good to finally have everything unpacked and in its place. It only took 4 days. How did we fit all this stuff into our tiny tiny little apartment in Macomb? I have NO idea! I am excited about the deals that i've found so far. I found a desk for 20 dollars and two black end tables for 15! Yeah, that's right, I'm a bargain shopper :)
We also have the crib all set up and the baby's room finished so everything is ready for when Mr. Link arrives. He has been kicking pretty hard lately and Matt and I have a great time during church just watching my stomach dance around... and listen to the speakers of course :) And speaking of church, our ward is really nice and there are a lot of couples our age and so we are excited about that. Hopefully they don't kick me out of the group though cause I'm lame and pregnant!
All and all, we are excited about Norman, OK.

The most awesome trip

We finally had to leave Utah to start our new chapter in Oklahoma and it started out with some neat surprises! About an hour into our 20 hour trip the cars air conditioner went out which made for a very hot hot hot 18 hours of the remainder of our trip.
We made it, though, and the good news is that our air conditioner is still under warranty so Heavenly Father has blessed us once again. The lesson learned...Keep Paying Tithing!!
Our apartment is nice, and much bigger than the one in Macomb, but to anyone besides us it prob still seems REALLY small :) Organizing our mansion has been quite a task though, but we couldn't have done as much as we have without the help of my uncle Spencer and Aunt Mel. It is a blessing to have family so close when we feel so far away from our immediate family.
And that is the update on us for the last three days :)

Summer Vacation

Well, it looks like our summer vacation to Utah is coming to an end. I can't believe that we are leaving in just three days to go to Oklahoma. It is bitter sweet because we are sad to leave family, but we are soooo excited to not be living out of suitcases anymore :)
We have done a lot while we have been out here though. We have:

Gone to Island Park, fished there, and relaxed.
Played with family
Prepared for baby
Been to Virginia, North Carolina, and Washington DC
Helped remodel parent's house
Helped a sister get through Miss Utah
and most importantly, just taken advantage of the time that we have had to spend with family and realize just how important they are to us.

It's been a busy summer, but a lot of fun, and I am sad to think that responsibility is just around the corner. poop

Matt felt the baby move last night, and it freaked him out a little bit! ha, I don't think it kicked, just was moving a lot, and so I had Matt feel my stomach to see if he could feel it from the outside and when it moved he jumped back and said, "I felt it!!" and got all excited :) I think he scared the little guy though because after Matt jumped Link finally calmed down, which was nice because then I was actually able to go to sleep :)

The Doctor kept talking about Link's "big package", and I couldn't help but laugh because of the way he said it. Poor Link is put on display.

It was a lot of fun to find out what we were having, and Matt is really excited to be able to have a son so he can call him Link! When I got home the first thing he said was, "I want to see the pictures of our little boy!" and then after he saw them he rushed to show his mom and dad cause he is so proud :) The most important thing though is that we found out he is healthy and he is doing well. He is also a little bigger than normal so the doctor says we should expect the due date to actually be Nov. 27 instead of Dec. 2 which is awesome with me!

Dance Party

Big News For The Findleys

Well, right now we have a lot of big things that are happening for us right now. We finally made a decision of where we are going and we have chose to go to Oklahoma! Matt and I are really happy with this choice because it is a really nice town and it is BIG, which I needed to keep my sanity :) An exciting thing for me is that I have family in Texas and so we will only be 2 and 1/2 hours away from them. That will be a blessing, especially since we just found out that I AM PREGNANT! (or "we" are pregnant :D). We are really excited about this too! I have been a mess, and calling my mom everyday just to make sure that what I am doing or eating will not kill the baby. Funny that Matt has the anxiety, but now he has to calm me down. (Well, only after he had a literal panic attack, "I can't breath, I can't breath, I need food!", ha).

I guess you could say our life is changing pretty dramatically with our new baby coming and with our move. We are really excited about these changes, and of course we are welcome to any advice because like I said, i'm freaking out :) In a good way though. Matt can't stop talking about the baby coming. It's really nice to have a husband who is really excited about a baby coming. Matt is super great, especially since he will have to deal with me and my emotions for 9 months :)
Well, that's about all for us right now. At least when it comes to the big stuff.

Matt got accepted!

Matt's News

Well, I tried to get Matt to write about his exciting news, but he just kept saying "you're better at it" which really means "I don't want to, cause i'm embarrassed" so I guess I'll have to.

Matt has an interview with University of Kentucky which is really exciting. Optimistic Matt wants me to clarify, though, that it is not a for sure thing, it is just an interview. So, I would like to clarify that I am just really proud of him for all the hard work that he has done and that even if "it is not a sure thing" I think that it is really great, and that even if he is not accepted, it's awesome to know that someone who is an up and coming big wig in psychology (the professor at University of Kentucky) has said that matt's application "enthused" him. Matt says that he is honored just to have the interview.

It's pretty early to hear back from schools so we'll keep you posted if we hear back from anymore.

I just want to say once more that I think Matt is awesome, and he works so hard, I really think something will work out. He has had a 4.0 every semester that we have been in Macomb, and I think that is so awesome. What a good little hubbie :) He really does work as hard as he does for our future family and I really appreciate that because it isn't always easy (on either of us, ha), but it will definitely be worth it in the future.

Big News

Well, we took Cat to the vet again today, and we found out that our little girl is actually a little boy, ha :) I guess his poor little man parts were so small that they thought he was a girl the first time we went in. Poor little guy :) And all this time Matt has been calling him Princess! No wonder he has had an attitude all this time, ha. So he is going through an identity crisis right now.

Winter wonderland

Macomb is now encased in a layer of ice. It's beautiful, but it has also caused some damage to the trees out here, and branches have fallen through people's property. It's crazy! This red tree actually usually stands up straight, but the weight of the ice is bending it to the ground.

It really looks like a winter wonderland outside. However, we don't want to be out there right now because the chill will take away your breath, and they just issued a warning on the tv that if you are out, make sure you cover all your skin because you can get frost-bite in less than 10 min.! I can't believe it. I have never lived somewhere like this so I think it is pretty cool, and so does Matt :)

My new job

I just wanted to write a little something about how much I love my new job. The people are so nice, and I feel comfortable already. It makes me feel really good too, because they tell me all the time what a great job I am doing. It is really nice to finally have a job where they appreciate all the hard work I do :)

Matt is afraid that I like being at work more than I like being home, ha!

Oh, and I love wearing scrubs because it is the most comfortable work uniform I have ever worn :) It's like wearing pajamas to work!

I was tagged, and I think that means that I say something about me :) And since i'm a narcisist this should be pretty easy for me!

1. I love music ( I think most people know this about me. ) I don't just love the things that everyone listens to, it really just depends on how I feel when I hear the song. There can be songs that make me cry, and not because they are sad, just because they move me by the melody, and the things that they add to the music in the background.

2. I am the biggest ditz ever! I hate it when it happens too, but at least I am not blonde anymore so people can't do the "oh, she's just blonde" look that they love to do :) I forget to turn off the stove, I forget to unplug the curling iron, I have broke my arm, my sisters arm, bruised my skull, had a concussion, and all because i'm hopeless :)

3. I can sit for hours and play a videogame, while Matt is crying the whole time "Can't I play yet?" because I get addicted, and turn into a selfish monster!

4. My favorite thing to do in the entire world is read a good book. (Lately it's been hard to find a good book). My one and only dream that has stayed with me since I was a kid is to have a HUGE library with all the classics, and the best books I've ever read (fiction and non-fiction). Kind of like the beasts collection in beauty and the beast :)

5. I can't get enough of the Harry Potter books, and i'm the nerd at the theatre after the movies saying "that wasn't right!" I love everything about them, and even though most people think they are children's books it is because they haven't read them. And even though Matt tells me I am gay everytime I want to read them, I still stay strong! If I had the self-esteem I needed, I would have been dressed up in robes when I got the books! (ok, maybe not really, but I thought about it)

6. I love tv series, and already in the last 3 years I have seen all (to date) of Grey's Anatomy (it all started at Scott and Emily's house in Bloomington!), 24, Prison Break, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Lost, Veronica Mars, Private Practice, and Gossip Girl (don't judge me! I have a problem with sleezy teen dramas!), and I think that is it :)

The most important thing about me, though is that I am married to the most wonderful man in the whole world, and he was the perfect match for me :) He is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I am the luckiest girl because of it.
So, that's a little about me. I think most of it people already knew. I wish I was way cool and could say things like "I climbed Mt Everest three times without an air mask!", but then I would be too cool to blog :)

I finally got a job as a transcriptionist!! YAY, I will be working at the hospital here which is great because I will have someone there to help me when I need it! I will be working in the radiology department, which is good for me because it will help me get faster quickly :) It is also located right next to the ER so I hope I see some crazy stuff!! (After I started watching Grey's Anatomy I have been obsessed with surgery and the ER:) i'm a dork).
Just thought I would let everyone know that I finally did it! And I will also have health insurance finally, it is the best day ever :D

Our Silly Little Crack Head

So I call Cat a crack head constantly because she is always doing bizarro things. Don't get me wrong though, she always a good time to watch. This morning Matt woke up and she was sleeping in the bathroom sink?!! I'm not sure what her fascination is with the bathroom, but we can always find her sleeping in the tub. The sink was a suprise, and we laughed our heads off! It's great cause when we laugh at her, she gets this "oh, I feel stupid" look, and it melts your heart. She like our little child. In a minor sense, she really is preparation for children because she is very mischevious, and we are always having to watch her carefully :) We love her!

Halloween, my favorite!

This Halloween was awesome, and even though I had to force Matt to wear a costume, and paint his face, I'm positive he had a good time too :) I'm such a mean wife making him dress up on halloween! We dressed up as Jack Skellington and Sally from Nightmare before Christmas, and it was really exciting cause I made the costumes from just stuff I found at salvation army (DI for all the Utah peeps reading this). I am pretty sure I had the most fun making them, even though I had a great time wearing it too, and getting Matt all dressed up. You can't see the whole outfit, but I had tights that had stitch marks on them, and I had stitch marks around my wrists and neck. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday with all the candy and dressing up as someone else!

Well, I suprised Matt on Friday with a kitty :) We are having to keep her secret though because our complex makes you pay 600 dollars just to have an animal! She's so cute though :) Her name is Cat (like from Breakfast at Tiffany's) and I picked her because she has something wrong with her front legs so I decided she needed the most love. She is really hyper and it is so funny to watch her freak out with her toys.

When Matt saw that I had snuck a cat into our apartment he said "I'm suprised i'm not mad at you right now." Ha, I think it's cause Cat is so cute and cuddly. She loves Matt and anytime he comes into the room she goes immediately to him. Not to mention, she was an outdoor cat and so we thought we would have to potty train her, but she's so cool she found the litter box all on her own! Go Cat!

Homecoming Parade

When Macomb has anything exciting you better believe we'll be there! With such a little town these events are few and far between, but today they had the Homecoming parade and it was a good time. I had to fight some little kids for candy, but their bruises will fade i'm sure. There was a Mccain/Palin float (most everyone out here is democratic) and everyone was completely silent until I screamed, at the top of my lungs, "Go Mccain and Palin! woooo!" Matt was terrified and hid his head. If looks could kill, the townspeople would have burnt me to ashes. I loved it :) All those little Obama followers. I sure showed them!

Springfield Trip

We went to Springfield yesterday and it was a great time! This picture was taken in the Lincoln Museum. It was the only one that Jolene let me take of her :) There was a show that they had there called the "ghosts of the library" and it was probably the coolest show I have ever seen. I can't even explain what made it so cool because it would take too long, but everyone should see it at least once.

We spent most of the day here, and we also visited the library, Lincoln's tomb, his house, and the old and new capitol building. It was fun to see them while we are here in Illinois because we don't know that we'll get another chance. I'm glad we were able to go.

Painting Pumpkins

Since Halloween is my favorite holiday I love to do all the holiday activities and the biggest one is painting pumpkins! We all had a great time, and while we were painting we watched Hocus Pocus :)

Matt's was supposed to be the Joker (he's still a little obssessed with the Dark Knight!) He even made it have green hair.

Tom and Jolene's pumpkins are supposed to be a couple :) We decided that Tom's pumpkin was a chinese pig.

This is a great shot of me, ha, it looks like I am losing my hair, but this was my pumpkin! I got the pumpkins from the farmer's market and picked the one with the most bumps. Those kinds of pumpkins are the most fun cause they have personality. If you can't tell, mine is just witches legs.

A massage for Matt

Well, with a little help from me and A LOT of help from his parents, Matt is feeling a lot better. It's nice to have him back. I guess this was our big lesson on eating healthy and taking vitamins! We've had a great time with his parents, even in our tiny little apartment :) Fortunately for Jolene we have a Walmart, although, not as fortunate for Tom :) We appreciate our family being understanding though with all that has been going on, and letting them come help us even with brand new babies coming into the family. They have brought sanity back to our home! (literally!). We'll be sad when they leave us.

I passed my test with a 91% and I am insanely happy!!! I was really nervous because it was my last chance to pass, but I did it, and with 6% to spare :) Now I am on the quest for a job, so that I can work less hours at the porno shop! (that might sound bad for anyone who doesn't know I work at Family Video, and I just say that cause of their porn room, ha!).
Matt's parents just got here today also, so today has been a really good day. Matt and I have needed one lately :)

Well, I finally took my medical transcription test! It was my last try so hopefully I passed. I will find out on 9.25.08 whether or not I passed. I feel really good about it though, so lets hope my gut feeling will transfer over to a really great score!!

Well, I figure this wouldn't be a true blog without an actual blog so I'm writing one. Not to mention, I am just trying to figure out what does what on this frickin site because I hate to admit it, but this site is terribly confusing. There, I said it.
